Favourites Of The Month

Hey guys! I'm finally back after 1 month of hiatus. I've been really busy lately,with work, fasting month and of course, Eid. And oh! Before i forget, i would like to wish all Muslims who're reading this Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir Dan Batin. =)

I was thinking of doing favourites of the month of August post but I think I'm kinda late on that. And so, since it's still Eid, I think I'm just gonna write up a post of the favorite products that I've been using throughout this celebration. So here goes...

Urban Decay Primer Potion: I've been loving this product ever since I got the first tube last year & I've moved on to the second one now. A little goes a very long way. It prevents eyeshadows & eyeliners from creasing & smudging.

I'm actually not a fan of applying eyeshadows when i go out cos i don't like to look too over-the-top and also because it somehow feels heavy on my eyes. But since it's Eid, well, let's just go for it!

NYX Nude on Nude Palette: A really great palette for both natural & smoky look. Since it's Hari Raya, I've been doing a lot of smoky looks to make my eyes look bigger in pictures. =) Colours are quite pigmented and i love how easy it is to compliment the colors with each other.

NYX Secret World Palette: The only reason I got this palette the other day was because of the greens. Initially i found it to be little hard to blend the colours since i have no idea which colors to use on my lids,crease and the outer corners. Thank god i found a way (mixed some greens & burgundy) and this is the look that I've created for the first day of Eid. =)

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil (Underground), Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto Mascara)

I've actually bought the glide-on pencil few months ago and i don't think it goes well for the upper lash line so i found out that it works best for the lower lash line. Besides, it doesn't smudge at all. I prefer this one more that my MAC's eye kohl cos that one smudges like crazy even after i've applied primer. (If you've noticed, I've done a swatch of the liner)

Finally, i think waterproof mascaras are much better actually. Hahahah! I noticed that some of the previous mascaras that I've used (especially the Maybelline unstoppable curly extension) tends to transfer to my bottom lash line and i'll look like a raccoon by the end of the day. The only thing about this mascara is that, it doesn't really volumise my lashes. Apart from that, it's awesome. =)

ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame, ELF Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

Just some products to tame my brows. =) I don't have to fill my brows (thank god!) but i just need to tame it. and since my hair is brown, usually i'll just apply that brown gel on my brows to match it with my hair colour.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC35

Initially i had a love-hate relationship with this concealer. Maybe bcos i'm too used to using liquid concealer. But then now i'm getting the hang of it and i realize that the coverage is really good and it can somehow last me the whole day =)

MAC Blot Pressed Powder (Medium Dark)

Awesome awesome product for someone who has oily skin like me. It's very sheer and it's really great at mattifying your skin when it gets oily. I don't do touch-ups. Dusting this product on my T-zone will suffice. =)

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

They say that the bronzer is the dupe for NARS' Orgasm. Really? i dunno...cause i've never tried NARS before. But whatever it is, the shade of brown is neither too dark nor too light for my skin tone. It does a really great job at contouring my cheeks since i realized i've been getting slightly chubbier lately. lol!

However, i was hoping for the blusher to be as pigmented as the bronzer. But it's not. So i have to take a very good amount before i can dust it at the apples of my cheeks since it's really very sheer.

NYX Round Gloss (01 True Red)

As the name suggests, it's really True Red indeed. This is the only red lip product that i have, apart from my Etude House's lip stain. This, in some ways is better than that lip stain because the colour is much more intense and my lips tastes really good after applying it. =)

Usually if i think that the colour is too much, i'll just apply a few dots onto my lips and using my finger, i'll blend it out.

Okay, that somehow wraps up this post. I've already thought of the next post. It's gonna be a DIY product to fight pimples/acnes and it works AMAZINGLY WELL! Do watch out on that. Good day guys! =)

Daily Skincare Routine

I still remember that as a teenager in the past (omg i feel so old now that I'm already an adult) I've never really had problems with my skin. I've never really had acne problems that occured very regularly and whatnot, until I turned 20 last year.

It was the most disastrous period for me because i broke out soooo often! There was never a time that my face was free from pimples. I'd definitely had a minimum of 3 pimples at one time. There was a time that i had 10 FRIGGIN PIMPLES AT ONLY ONE SIDE OF MY CHEEK!. Just imagine how terrible it was then.

I took care of my face really well but I had no idea what went wrong. I realised that it was due to the choice of products that I used back then - the bloody SKII.

I guess that the products were too strong for my skin and caused severe breakouts.

Until recently, I had discovered a range of products that suit my skin really well. I DO NOT have flawless skin but for sure, it has improved tremendously. So in this post, I would like to share the products that I've been using very regularly (every single day) that are suitable for my skin.

Day Use:

1) Oxy Acne Wash

2) Loreal White Perfect Eye Cream

3) Laneige White Plus Renew Essence

4) Laneige Water Bank Hydro Gel

5) Laneige SunBlock SPF50

Night Use:

1) Acnes CreamyWash + BodyShop Exfoliating Sponge

2) Laneige Skin Refiner - Toner

3) Loreal White Perfect Eye Cream

4) Laneige White Plus Renew Essence

5) Laneige Water Bank Hydro Gel

6) BodyShop Vitamin E FaceMist

7) Vaseline (for eyelashes)

8) Oxy 10

There are also some products that i use every now and then, maybe once or twice a week. My mum once told me to invest on a good moisturiser. You may not see the effect now. But you'll see it once you get older. And that's the reason why her skin still looks flawless even though her age is slightly more than half a decade now. OhMan, please don't tell her that I disclosed her age here.

Laneige Lip & Eye Makeup Clenser (Waterproof)

For me, I apply makeup almost every time I go out. So, I have to first remove my makeup using a makeup remover at the end of the day. Ensure that all of the makeup has been thoroughly removed or else it'll clog up the pores, causing breakouts.

Recently I've also tried Biore's Cleansing Oil In Cotton Facial wipes (available in Watsons) and I think it's great in removing makeup, even the waterproof ones. No pictures for now cause I'm too lazy to captures the images, Haha! I might do a review on it soon.

Oxy Acne Wash, Acnes Creamy Wash + BodyShop Exfoliating Sponge

In the morning when i wash my face, I opt for a mild gel cleanser (Oxy Acne Wash).

Whereas at night or in the evening after I've removed my makeup, I'll cleanse my face with Acnes Creamy Wash using the BodyShop's Exfoliating Sponge. I'm obsessed with this technique as it helps to remove all the dirt and of course to remove any excess makeup that is trapped in my pores. They say exfoliating your face every single day is too harsh. But i think this method works best for me.

NuTeen Blackheads Away Gel

I only use this every Sunday night to remove the blackheads especially around my nose area. Not the best product but it somehow helps.

Laneige Skin Refiner - Toner

Toner is very very important to remove the excess impurities on your face before you move on to moisturiser.

Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Repair Pack

This works as a mask. I apply this twice a week, after toner (Wednesday & Sunday night) Apply it on your face, leave it on for around 20 minutes and rinse it off. You can feel that your skin is very smooth and silky.

Loreal White Perfect Eye Cream

I've only bought this last month and I think it works great so far. Really like the vibrating device since it helps to soothe my eye area. Well so far, i don't have any problems with eyebags, but I do have problems with under eye circle. This cream helps to slightly brighten up the eye area.I might get a second one once I've finished this one up.

Laneige White Plus Renew Essence

This is my whitening serum which i hope could lighten my acne scars (which is so terrible) I've used this for almost 4 months & honestly I think it does help to lighten those stubborn scars.

Laneige Water Bank Hydro Gel

Already on my second tub. Love it so much! The gel consistency helps to control the oil on my face since I have oily skin. The scent is of course, amazing.

Laneige SunBlock SPF50

Still on my sample size, and I think I don't have to get the full-sized one...yet. haha

I've been really obsessed with SPF lately. Just look at the weather recently. How crazy can it be. And also for the fact that I think that my face it darker than the rest of the other part of my body. So I don't think it should get any darker than this. Thanks ah Netball. Thanks soo much.

BodyShop Vitamin E FaceMist

Another product that I got last month. So far it works great. Most importantly, it does not break me out. Usually i'll spray this on my face to set my makeup, allowing the makeup to stay in place & it also has a dewy finish.

Also, at night after applying my moisturiser, i'll just spray this on as well.

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

This is just the sample that the counter lady gave me. I wanted to get a tub but I have another 4 samples and each can last me around 4 uses. So I'll just finish those up first. I apply this on days that i don't apply my masks on...like on Tuesday & Friday nights. But sometimes I'd totally forgot about it. Haha

Vaseline

Well I do apply mascara everytime I go out. I can live without eyeliners, but NOT mascara. It simply helps to make my eyes bigger and look more awake. Sucks to have not-so-big eyes.

Anyway, I use Vaseline every night to condition my eye lashes in order to make it stay healthy (and hopefully grow longer)

Oxy 10

MY BEST FRIEND!! I really really can't live without this. The moment this thing runs out, I'll start to panic. I've tried quite a few pimple products and none works for me. By far, this is the best.

Taking care of your skin is really really important. Some people may be blessed with very good skin condition. But you'll still have to at least apply moisturiser. Like my mum always say, You may not see it now, But you'll definitely see the effect when you get older. So, start from young. =)

ohya, i don't have a lot of favourites of the month cause I've pretty much been using the same things. So I guess I'll just pass the July favourites. heeee

Bought this because I'm afraid that the one by Elf might break me out. So far this works really well. It helps to hold my make up in place and I love the rosey scent. =)

Body Shop Facial Buffer

Stocked up on these. Bought another 4 cause I have to change it every 2 weeks. So these would probably last me...errmmm..2 months?

Body Shop Japenese Cherry Blossom Body Mist

Body Shop's body mists were on promotion so I picked this out since my sister love the scent so much. I'm not really a fan of overly sweet-smelling perfume/bodysprays so I gave this to her.

Loreal White Perfect Eye Cream/Micro Vibration

This new product by Loreal was advertised on TV & Magazines. Since I've ran out of my eye cream, I've decided to try on this one. I really like how soothing my eyes feel everytime after I've placed the vibration device under my eyes. It's just so relaxing.

VS Sassoon Hair Products

I've stocked up on these as well since the promotion deal is still on. Furthermore, I've decided to stay with this brand for a few more months since I really like how it works on my hair.

Vaseline Healthy White SPF24 Triple Lightening

I've ran out of the previous bottle - Vaseline Healthy White.

Since lately the weather has been scorching hot, I've decided to protect my skin by putting on SPF and so I got this one instead.

Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner - Light

Almost ran out of my current one so I got a back up. This one smells wayyyy better than the one that I'm using now. The smell of Tea Tree is just too overpowering and gross, unlike this one.

Laneige Water Bank Hydro Gel

I also got a back up for my daily moisturiser. I'm obsessed with this one. Love the consistency, which is super hydrating but controls the oil on my face as well. And of course, the amazing scent!

It seems that I'm obsessed with Laneige products right?Guess what? YES I AM!! I've tried the sample that Laneige has been providing me and I've tried the sample for this mask and i LOVE IT SO MUCH! I'm literally turned on (Haha!) by the smell of this product. It's smells soooo yummy! It's exactly like Pocky's Strawberry Flavour and I always feel like eating it everytime i smell this thing!!!! It makes my face sooo smooth, hydrated and it also helps to brighten up my face. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Samples <333333!

What's Laneige without the generous amount of samples right? Besides, the counter girl who always serves me sees my face every single month so she's very nice to me. Hahahah! Regular customer seyyy!

Daiso's Plastic Boxes

Bought 2 of these boxes from Daiso to store the makeup products that I've just gotten as well as the present ones and it's already full! There's a reason to get more IF i get more makeup products.

AND I FOUND OUT THAT THERE'S LAURA MERCIER IN SINGAPORE!!! YAYYYY!! This product has been in my wishlist for soooo long! SOON, I'll definitely get it.

MAKEUP HAUL

This post will be divided into two parts. The first part, I'll be focusing on the makeup products that I got which are from Elf, NYX, Sephora, MAC, Urban Decay & Bare Minerals. And the other half will be on other beauty & non-beauty related items.

I'll try my best to make both posts less wordy and so let's just allow these pictures do the talking.

The items that I've purchased.

Elf Golden Bronzer

Comes in 4 different shades. Packaging is rather sleek & somehow looks like of NARS.

Elf Cream Eyeliner (Black & Coffee)

Colours are very intense & does not smudge easily. Works better with a coat of primer underneath.

Elf Eyelid Primer

They said it's a dupe for Urban Decay Primer Potion but of course, it's sold at a much cheaper price.

Elf Makeup Mist & Set

Spray this onto your face to set your makeup and also to help your makeup stay in place, without turning cakey. It also contains ingredients which are good for the skin.

Elf Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

One side is used to apply on your eyebrows to tame it while the other side is used on your eyelashes. I'll use this on days that i don't intent to apply any mascara.

Elf Regular & Waterproof Mascara

A lot of people know that I Hate to use waterproof mascara cos they're just sooo hard to remove. But i got this one for emergency purposes.

Elf Duo Eye Shimmer Eyeshadow (Olive)

Cream shadows that act as bases for eyeshadows. Got this just for the sake of having it.Hehe

NYX Nude on Nude Palette

I wanted to get these few months ago but I got the smaller palette instead. And eversince then, I couldn't stop thinking about it and I just had to get it.

NYX The Runway Collection

Comes with 10 gorgeous colours. I thought that this might come in VERY handy for the upcoming Eid.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil (Pure Gold & Horse Raddish)

I LOVE NYX's Jumbo EyePencils cos they work the best! So I got these two to accompany the NYX's Runway Palette.

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand (Medium)

Previously I got the concealer in a jar in 'Glow' which was too dark for me. So I got a shade lighter and plus, the concealer ward seems to be more creamy than the ones that comes in jars.

NYX Round Lipgloss (01 True Red)

This is love at first sight. I do not own any red lipsticks. So i got this and the intensity of this lipgloss is too awesome to be missed.

NYX Round Lipstick (B52)

Recommendation by my cousin Fiza. She was telling me how much she loves this shade so I thought I might just get one for myself.

I also went over to Sephora and picked out a few items.

Sephora Individual Eyeshadow (Marie N*14)

A taupy-greyish colour that looks very pretty even when applied on its own.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil (Underground)

I'be been wanting to invest on a good dark brown pencil liner but I was sad to find out that the shade was out of stock. So I got this colour instead. It appears to be brown but when I swatched it, it's actually a greyish-purplish colour.

MAC Eye Kohl (Teddy)

I discovered Smoulder first bcos it's highly raved and used by makeup Gurus in Youtube. But i don't like the Blackness of the eyeliner so I got Teddy instead.

MAC SheerTone Blush (BlushBaby)

Got another blusher by MAC. On camera it appears to be Coral but it's actually a beige with a tint of brown to it that works well for both contouring/bronzing and blush.

Bare Minerals - Prime Time Oil Control

Got a new foundation primer. Hope this one works better than my current one.
